Strobing 101: Curtin Sarawak SOE Staff Profile

· February 22, 2013 · Portrait

I had been in hibernation mode since last year when it comes to photography. It is almost a statement if one lost his / her motivation, it is not an excuse to give up. Therefore, in order to pick myself up once again, the best thing is to press on and shoot! I have never been so alive once more when the shutters are pressed. It just feel like… everything comes back again within me!

Today, I’d decided to take on the work assignment with my colleague, and had try something a little different than before. Instead of a normal white wall- indoor portraits, we try to challenge ourselves with a light source + greenery outdoor! I am still very new to strobing techniques, so, it is basically an experimental, trial and error so to say!

We had fun with the colleagues who came and had their photos taken, and the outcomes are not that bad after all. I learnt a lot definitely and of course, there is still much much more to improve. There is almost “infinite” exploration in the art of lighting!

Here are some of the pics I personally like. 🙂
